With so many families in Southern Oregon being devastated by the fires we are working to put a smile back on those kids’ faces this Christmas.  Saturday, October 31st our Kids Can project hosted a special can & bottle drive and all the proceeds will be used to provide Christmas gifts for youth who lost their homes in the Almeda and South Obenchain Fires.

Beginning November 9th and running through December 7th Giving Trees will be available at local businesses.  People in the community can take a gift tag for a local student who lost their home and purchase a Christmas Gift for them.  Together we will provide gifts for over 800 students from the Phoenix-Talent, Eagle Point, Ashland, and Medford School Districts.

Due to the scope of this tragedy most of these families are facing ongoing struggles with housing.  While we would love to give each student a big pile of gifts, they may not have anywhere to put them yet so we are recommending gift cards.  If you have chosen a child in Elementary School a small/medium sized toy and/or a gift card would be appreciated.

Thanks to a wonderful donation of over sixty 1980’s toys in original packaging there will also be an auction to raise money for these students.  The auction will begin December 4th at https://soyp.betterworld.org

As a special thank you, every gift tag fulfilled and returned will receive a raffle ticket.  The raffle prize includes $500 and a Design Service ($299 value) from Garrison’s Home, $50 gift card to The Point, a Salon Gift Basket and more!!!
